About US
Welcome to United Cities Wing Chun Student Association. We are a class dedicated to learning and preserving Wing Chun Kung Fu and Cultural Arts. Please contact us if you are interested in the art of Wing Chun and making friends along your Martial Arts journey.
The class is held in a friendly environment with helpful members. Our goal is to remain open-minded for people who are genuinely interested in Wing Chun and Martial Arts. Keeping the class friendly allows people the ability to ask questions, discuss techniques, share experiences, and grow as Martial Artist in a safe and comfortable atmosphere.
We encourage our members to explore different Martial Arts styles, techniques, and theories, to gain greater insight into our own art. We all have different experiences which serve to broaden our knowledge and to share what we have learned. Our class has hosted like-minded guests who genuinely care about the preservation of the arts.

Sifu Alson YueN
Sifu Alson started his Wing Chun training at Pena Mohai, Palo Alto location in 1987 with Grand Master Kenneth Chung. During his time there, Sifu Alson was an avid practitioner gaining much insight on his prior martial arts experiences in Hong Kong. He was in the third batch of Grand Master Chung’s Bay Area students and with the guidance of Grand Master Chung and several of his seniors (Kam Chu, Don Cheung, Patrick Au, Peter Cheng, and others), he had an opportunity to flourish. In 1991 Sifu Alson won his division at the Tiger Balm International Kung Fu Tournament in San Francisco and earned the title “Chi Sau” Champion.
Sifu Alson began teaching in Union City, CA in 1993. Classes were hosted in Dai Si Hing (Senior Student) Johnny Lo’s garage. The class grew organically bringing in neighboring kids and adults alike. What made this class special was that there was no tuition, only a genuine interest in passing down Wing Chun Kung Fu.
In 2007, United Cities Wing Chun Student Association moved to Union City Leisure Services with the assistance of Sifu Stephen Jeung, who had been teaching at Union City Community Centers since 1999. Stephen, being an instructor, saw an opportunity to have a special instructor and decided that he would teach the beginner’s classes and ease them to Sifu Alson’s tutelage. Today enrollment and quarterly fees are required for the facility, but the goal remains the same, keeping the cost low and affordable for students. All quarterly fees go directly to Union City Leisure Services to operate its facilities.
*Sifu Stephen began his Wing Chun training in 1993 and has studied Wing Chun under Sifu Patrick Au and Sifu Ben Der. Stephen formally retired from teaching in 2018, however remains as an active member of class. We are grateful for his assistance and support.
